OUR HISTORY

For five generations, the Derakhshan family has worked as real estate developers, builders, designers, and contractors. Navid and Omid Derakhshan, the co-founders of Outdoor Makeover & Living Spaces, began their careers at an early age, helping out on their father’s construction sites. Navid, an Emory-trained biologist, and Omid, a civil engineer from Georgia Tech, started Outdoor Makeover & Living Spaces in 2001 under the leadership of their father.The seamless integration of two very different disciplines from Navid and Omid is what introduced the concept of Outdoor Makeover & Living Spaces to the metro Atlanta area. Today, led by CEO & co-founder Navid Derakhshan, Outdoor Makeover & Living Spaces offers an all-inclusive and holistic approach to landscape and construction services with the full capability to re-envision any outdoor space.

After graduating from Emory University as a biologist, Navid followed his passion and talent for designing outdoor spaces. He works hard for his client’s complete satisfaction and enjoys working with his team as well. One of Navid’s favorite parts of the business is being invited back to enjoy the extraordinary outdoor spaces he has completed for his clients.

Omid, a civil engineer from Georgia Tech, has a passion for real estate and construction. He is proud of his legacy within the company, and the satisfied clientele that continues to grow every time another outdoor makeover project is completed.

The Client’s Role In Receiving The Outdoor Makeover Experience:

We ask that our clients be available for feedback and necessary communication. We work efficiently and have a large team in place to complete your job and ask our clients to participate in the process. We do frequent walk-throughs, so being available at the scheduled time is important. The client’s presence is often mandatory for handling unexpected events or when we need to improvise. Communication is key!

There’s no doubt about this since he started an entire company around it. Navid’s company, Outdoor Makeovers and Living Spaces, is devoted to helping other people discover the same passion and get attuned to that side of them that loves the outdoors. His company brings an opportunity for clientele from all backgrounds and socio-economic statuses to enjoy fresh, organic food and a beautiful backyard. Furthermore, through donations, Navid’s company helps improve the lives of those who cannot afford landscaping services.

Outdoor Makeover’s Charity Movement

Navid’s desire to bring this wonderful opportunity to everyone has grown into a generous foundation. His company, Outdoor Makeover, has founded a charity movement that donates vegetable gardens to charities that house orphans, seniors, people with disabilities, and other individuals who need help and would enjoy delicious, fresh produce. The goal of Outdoor Makeover’s charity is to donate two vegetable gardens to our community per year. We are here to ask you to help us find charities that could use a beautiful vegetable garden to help those in need spend more of their time outdoors, with a garden to enjoy. We know that little effort goes into making the outdoors more entertaining, since our entertainment is often limited to the indoors, with television. By donating to these vegetable gardens, we want to give an opportunity to our friends in these charities to have fun outside.

Play in dirt—get dirty.

We think there’s nothing better in this world than seeing a whole season’s endeavor in a well-cared-for garden pay off in fresh vegetables that no store can compete with. We all love fresh food, and many of our clients try to grow their edibles. We’re thinking about all the people who need a head start to get them on the right track or those who have never been exposed to the culture. We hope to help fill that void. Please help us to find qualified charities that could use our effort. If you would also like to donate to our cause, we will accept and use your funds to grow these vegetable gardens. Consultation Vouchers Donations

So many generous Atlantans give their time or money to support nonprofits whose missions align with their beliefs and values. We want to help. We would like to donate 2 to 4 Standard consultations to select nonprofits of our client’s choice. These Consultation Vouchers to Nonprofits, valued at $500, can be auctioned and usually bring $250 to $400 to each nonprofit. Please email us to explain how your nonprofit is helping our community and how we can help!
