A: Our designer visits your property, listens to your ideas and goals, evaluates the space, and discusses options that align with your budget and lifestyle. We welcome homeowners to share ideas, but we’ll guide the entire meeting as outdoor living space experts. We’ll arrive with photo inspiration and a lot of great ideas to help paint the picture. Then we’ll create a beautiful, descriptive design that captures what was discussed during the consultation. We focus on your needs and wants. Every design idea addresses function, flow, aesthetics—or all of the above. We approach your property and lifestyle holistically, integrating your family, friends, and pets into the design.

A: Have a list of priorities (e.g., patio, garden, pool), photos of styles you like, and a budget range in mind. This helps us create a personalized plan. If possible, we’d love for both spouses to be present during the consultation. An updated survey helps us understand our parameters, work within any constraints, and navigate municipal codes.

A: We offer high-touch, value-packed consultations designed to kickstart a transformational outdoor experience. Details vary by project type; contact us for specifics.

A: Typically, 60–90 minutes onsite, depending on the scope of your property and vision. Our designer and office design team will collaborate afterward. Each consultation includes about 5 hours of follow-up thought and drafting after the meeting with our clients.

We offer all aspects of landscaping, such as grading, sod, plant design, and privacy trees. We also provide full-service hardscaping, including outdoor kitchens, walls, patios, stone walkways and driveways, and synthetic turf. Additionally, we hold a general contractor license to perform a wide range of outdoor carpentry projects, including decks, porches, pool houses, and cabanas. We also install in-ground swimming pools and spas in a variety of styles and designs. Lastly, we have installed hundreds of recreational facilities, including sports courts, putting greens, and playgrounds. A: Yes, Outdoor Makeover and Living Spaces is a full-service design-build company located in Atlanta, Georgia. We offer a range of landscaping services, including plant design, grading, sod installation, and privacy trees. We also offer a range of hardscape options, including outdoor kitchens, retaining walls, patios, stone walkways, driveways, and synthetic turf. In addition, we hold a general contractor license to perform a wide range of outdoor carpentry projects, including decks, porches, pool houses, and cabanas. We install in-ground swimming pools and spas in a variety of styles and designs. Lastly, we have installed hundreds of play spaces, including sports courts and multi-court designs, using VersaCourt systems and playgrounds. A: Outdoor Makeover works with 3rd party Structural, Civil, and Environmental Engineers on certain projects that require professional specialities. These are mostly permitted projects that may require an engineer to sign off on a certain feature such as a deck, retaining wall, or porch. Your designer will inform you if working with a licensed engineer or architect is required for your project. OMLS handles the entire design process and this may include engineering, if necessary.

A: A detailed plan with thoughtful plant selections, hardscape features, lighting, and layout to bring your outdoor vision to life.

A: Outdoor Makeover offers multiple design options, each with a different list of deliverables for your project. Our Client Concierge will help you choose the design option that best suits your project. During the in-person consultation at your home, our designer will discuss your overall vision and budget, take detailed measurements, and gather plenty of photos and videos. Most designs are created electronically and can take a few weeks to complete.

A: Simple designs may take a week, while large or complex plans can take several weeks to finalize. We typically ask for 3 to 4 weeks after the meeting. Please discuss this with your designer for a more accurate timeline.

A: The number of revisions included depends on the design package that you choose. Please speak with your landscape designer to discuss revisions to the project plan. 

A: Yes — we offer both 2D and 3D renderings to help you visualize your space and plan your project.

A: We recommend 3D designs for more complex projects or those with higher investment. 3D renderings are highly recommended for projects heavy in outdoor living elements such as pools, decks, porches, patios, outdoor kitchens, fire features, and water features. Plant-focused and softscape projects typically don’t require 3D visuals and are often designed with 2D drawings.

A: Design costs vary based on complexity, but many range from $1,500 to $10,000+. This investment ensures a cohesive, high-value outdoor space. However, Outdoor Makeover and Living Spaces offers design packages at more competitive rates due to our scale as the largest outdoor design-build company in Atlanta.

A: While online companies may provide nice virtual designs, they often lack the ability to physically build your project. The build process is the most difficult and important part of any project. Design is a fun and enjoyable step, but it remains theoretical until we break ground. Our field team is responsible for transforming your design into reality, managing product flow, delivery, client communication, and overall satisfaction. For permitted jobs, we also coordinate with city inspectors and municipal supervisors.
Online design companies may not be familiar with local plants, materials, or building codes, and often don’t take responsibility for incorrect designs—leaving it up to the installer to adjust.
In-person meetings matter. While Zoom meetings and email communication are helpful, nothing compares to the live back-and-forth exchange that happens when all participants are contributing in real time. That’s when the true subjectivity and ownership of a space come to life for homeowners who care about how the space is finished—according to their taste, but with our expertise and guidance.

A: Yes, Outdoor Makeover will work with your HOA to ensure that your project is approved. Most of the coordination for this process will be between the homeowner and the HOA, but often Outdoor Makeover will assist with questions and fill out forms. The HOA approval process should start after your design and proposal have been finalized with Outdoor Makeover.

A: The design is yours to keep, even if you do not implement the project with Outdoor Makeover. If you do move forward with the project, the consultation fee will be discounted from the overall project price.

A: Unlikely, but special exceptions may be made. It’s important that Outdoor Makeover owns the responsibility of great design and professional considerations for your project. While there are certainly plenty of talented landscape designers around us, we cannot guarantee our installation without implementing our design and review process beforehand. Our talented designers work with our internal permitting team to determine the best solutions to your problem that look great, function great, and adhere to local building codes.

A: Yes we can, please identify during your consultation the presence of any deer, rabbits, moles, or other pests that may be a factor in planning your project.

A: Yes we can, and we do! Our talented landscape designers will work with you to prioritize native or pollinator loving plants in your landscape. Please speak with your designer to incorporate these plants into your project.
