OUR HISTORY

For five generations, the Derakhshan family has worked as real estate developers, builders, designers, and contractors. Navid and Omid Derakhshan, the co-founders of Outdoor Makeover & Living Spaces, began their careers at an early age, helping out on their father’s construction sites. Navid, an Emory trained biologist, and Omid, a civil engineer from Georgia Tech, started Outdoor Makeover & Living Spaces in 2001 under the leadership of their father. The seamless integration of two very different disciplines from Navid and Omid is what introduced the concept of Outdoor Makeover & Living Spaces to the metro Atlanta area.

Today, led by CEO & co-founder Navid Derakhshan, Outdoor Makeover & Living Spaces offers an all-inclusive and holistic approach to landscape and construction services with the full capability to re-envision any outdoor space. We believe in good quality service in every aspect, and install long-lasting projects backed by the longest warranty in the industry. We build it right, and promise to exceed your expectations! Throughout our many years of providing exceptional service, the company has been awarded “Best Atlanta Contractor” by Angie’s List, has achieved over 200 awards collaboratively, and is truly living up to the title of the ‘Best in the Business’!

After graduating from Emory University as a biologist, Navid followed his passion and talent for designing outdoor spaces. He works hard for his client’s complete satisfaction, and enjoys working with his team as well. One of Navid’s favorite parts of the business is being invited back to enjoy the extraordinary outdoor spaces he has completed for his clients.

Our Project Management Style

We believe that stellar project management is the key to seamless communication throughout a project. Our designers are also our project managers, ensuring the final product reflects the initial vision. Our project managers focus on one main project at a time, and handle all design, materials, logistics, and sequence of installation. We believe that our level of designer involvement is what sets us apart.

  • We communicate well with our employees. They have been with us a long time and are well-versed in our standards and procedures.
  • You’ll have the owner’s contact info and the owner will check each job for quality control. We care about the details.
  • We don’t rush jobs and we do what it takes to provide you with a quality product. We believe in doing it once and doing it right.
  • We are equipped with the right tools for the job.
  •  While we don’t rush jobs, we don’t linger on projects either. We finish on time, every time.
  •  We uphold our agreements and contracts.
  • ·We stay within budget 99% of the time and handle small changes at no cost most of the time.
  •  If we make a mistake, we admit it and fix it, asap.
  •  We care about your property. If we notice something small another company has not done correctly, we often just take care of it for you.
  •  From deliveries to weather obstacles to problems such a s a cut cable, we handle it all. We keep you apprised of the situation, and the plan for resolution to any issues that arise.
  •  No one on our team is paid on commission, therefore you will not be pressured to purchase more expensive items, add-ons, or upgrades.
  • We will communicate with you throughout the project—in person, via phone call, text, or email—whatever works best for you.
  •  Upon completion of the project, we do a walk through with you to ensure expectations have been met or exceeded.

The client’s role in receiving the Outdoor Makeover experience:

We ask that our clients be available for feedback and necessary communication. We work efficiently and have a large team in place to complete your job and ask our clients to participate in the process. We do frequent walk throughs, so being available at the scheduled time is important. The client’s presence is often mandatory for dealing with unexpected events or instances where we need to improvise. Communication is key!
